“Case Against Suspect in the Slay of Mediaman Godofredo Linao now in Court” - Blancaflor

Task Force Against Extra-Judicial and Political Killings (TF211) Chairman and Justice Undersecretary Ricardo Blancaflor today announced the filing of charges against a certain “Doy” in the slaying of Magic Love FM radio disc jockey Godofredo Linao who was gunned down by the suspect while about to disembark from his motorcycle last July 27, 2009. 

“The immediate filing of this case against the suspect shows the commitment of the PNP, together with the task force in resolving the murder of Godofredo.  The case was filed at the Regional Trial Court (RTC) of Lianga Sur, docketed as Criminal Case Number I-2295 entitled PP vs. Doy, et. al”, Blancaflor said. 

Blancaflor further explained,“the Office of the Regional Prosecutor has been working overtime on this case, including that of Jonathan Fetalvero of DxVM-FM in Agusan del Sur whose case against the suspect was already filed just last Friday, 30 July 2009”. 

Blancaflor added, “the filing of charges came, only two weeks after the occurrence of the crime. However, this is not yet the end of the road for the team of TF211. The task force is committed to follow the cases of Linao and Fetalvero, should investigation appear that the crimes committed will fall under the mandate of TF211”. 

“I would like to assure the families of victims that every case is important to us. Nothing will be left to chance to make sure that every family of those slain will be given the justice they so deserve,” Blancaflor said. ##
